Ok if I had back talked an adult when I was 13, messed with someones motorcycle, then threatened to hit an adult... my mother would have KILLED me. I would have died. But, no. Not these kids. We live right next to the middle school. An every after on our stoop in front of our house there any were between 15 and 20 kids for the children in our stairwell to wade through. An half of these kids act threatening.
Yesterday it got out of hand when one of them hopped on my neighbours bike I asked him to get off. When I tried to explain to him he could get into trouble for it. An if he damaged it, he could be forced to pay for it. He an the rest of them became increasing beligrent. So I removed myself. Then my neighbour guest who was trying to help me tried to keep the boys from leaving as I called MPS. One threatened to hit him! No I am not kidding. An the main reason we called the MPs was to find the kids parents!
Now here is the part that makes me angry. We didn't get the kids parents that were doing the damage, or the yelling...no we got the ones that we don't even remember that were standing in the back. That said we were screaming an cussing. I didn't scream at anybody. Mostly because all the boys were 4 times my size. But, we were told that they are not going to tell their children to stop hanging out in front of our stairwell *which is illegal since they don't live here an they keep breaking in!* But, we need to leave their children alone.
I was polite. I contiued to be polite. I will just make sure to lock the building up tight. An if I see the cars touched I will take a picture from the window. I won't take the girls to the playground until 4pm *which is unfair to them*. Since I got told I cus to much to around THEIR children any way. Even though the *FUCK* came out of those childrens mouth more than any thing else. I am mad. I am steaming. An I can't do anything about it.

That is terrible. I hate that 'bad' kids have their rights protected like this. You can't ask them to leave but they can be loitering - aggressively - within a private residence? What is that?
We used to have roving gangs of teenagers in our neighbourhood and all I ever wanted was for their parents to have to be awakened in the middle of the night like I was - and take some responsibility for the monsters they were raising. Did it happen? Not enough to stop the gangs. They stayed until they all got cars - then who cares where they went.
I don't mean teens hanging out, maybe getting a little loud, maybe drinking a bit. I mean these were bad*ss kids. Smashing glass, threatening people, beating people (one really scary time when a guy was on the ground and there was a group of 8 or so kicking him)throwing things at moving vehicles - and it's 2 am.
Way past time for parents to get a wake up call.
Sorry to hear it isn't any different on an army base. I kind of expected more discipline. And you have 2 little girls. Ridiculous.
